We think comedy is more important than ever. That's why we're dedicated to publishing short-form comedic fiction. At Cackle Books, we take our comedy seriously. Hell, we have to. We're based in Texas. We're 100% committed to the bit and in making space for laughter in the dang world.

up to 70k words.
Our first title, TOO MUCH HEAVEN, is releasing this November! We expect to open to fiction submissions up to 70,000 words in 2028. Want to know when we open for submissions? Join our mailing list!

We champion the work of human creators.

We are only interested in words crafted by humans to be read by humans. We also value art, illustration, and photography made or taken by humans.
If the machines want to entertain themselves, that’s their business. Our business is about people and the craft that comes from the human experience.
